Temitope Aluko said he is not aware of any arrest warrant
He said Governor Fayose was trying to bring him down
Aluko said they were plotting to set his houses in Ekiti on fire
Dr. Temitope Aluko, the former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state, has said he is not aware of arrest warrant issued against him by an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court or any court for alleged perjury.
Aluko, who blew the whistle on the alleged rigging of the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti state said he was not in court and not aware of any court order, The Nation reports.
Report surfaced yesterday that a chief magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital ordered the state commissioner of police to arrest the former PDP secretary over alleged perjury.
According to Aluko, the rushing of the governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose and his cronies to court was part of their plan to bring him down and poison him.
He claimed that they had made attempts on his life in the last 96 hours and the arrest warrant was another one of their plots.
“Nigerians should know that these people are just attacking the messenger they are not addressing the message.
“The document (witness statement on oath) taken there (tribunal) was signed by the Secretary of the party (PDP) and that was in guiding the interest of the party. It was talking about Saturday, June 21, 2014 election while I am telling the story before June 21, 2014 election and there is no conflict about my position,” he said.
Aluko explained that his reason for blowing the whistle about the alleged rigging of 2014 Ekiti election was because he was a patriotic Nigeria who wants democratic structures strengthened.
He wondered why they were making attempts on his life, saying: “It is only the guilty that are afraid, resorting to self-help. All these moves are pointing to a sinister objective because Dr. Tope Aluko is talking about the pre-June 21, 2014 election day and it is separate from the PDP State Secretary’s position of June 21, 2014 election day.”
The former PDP secretary claimed that Fayose and his henchmen were also plotting set his houses in Ekiti ablaze, adding that if such happens, people should know whom to hold responsible.
Aluko had during an interview on Sunday, January 31, 2016, revealed how former president, Goodluck Jonathan allegedly gave Governor Ayo Fayose $37 million to rig the Ekiti governorship election
Reacting to this allegation, Governor Fayose said Aluko was being sponsored by the opposition, All Progressives Congress, who wanted to silence him.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have called for the arrest of Fayose and Dr Aluko, following stunning revelations.
