With the resurgence of militancy and havoc now been caused in the
Niger Delta and major oil depots in the South-West, the Federal
Government have started looking for ways to to put an end to the menace
before it escalates. In light of this, the militants have given
conditions for which they would stop the bombings. In this piece, OURCAMPUSINFO takes a look at the 3
conditions already laid out by Top militant leaders under which they
would stop the renewed bombing of oil installations and embrace peace
again…
1. The militants said that they would only drop their arms when the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, meets and negotiates with them.
2. One of the top leaders, who gave his name as General Levi, said that they would not want to back down until the Petroleum Minister meets them and secures amnesty for their members to avoid being persecuted by security agencies.
3. The militant leaders also said after meeting with the minister, they would like to take over the responsibility of tracking and exposing those bent on causing further destruction to all facilities and meting out appropriate punishment to them.
