FUNAAB Student in Trouble, 1 Shot At FUNAAB Gate, Police Lynched, Student Flee Area.

Hell broke loose at the main gate of the federal university of agriculture, abeokuta when an individual was shot by members of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian police force over a FUNAAB student.FUNAAB Gist correspondents gathered from a source who said that today Sunday,the 10 of January, 2016 an individual was shot on his leg by a member of police SARS.
We gathered that what led to the incidence was when a student who doubles as a hostel agent who goes by the name Folarin and resides at Azegbe hostel was approached by members of the special anti robbery squad who are in the area to track and curb cult and other criminal activities in the area for questioning when a large amount of money was discovered on him.
Folarin being unable to properly defend the sourceof the money was then to be arrested by the SARS unit, but folarin was resisting arrestThe brawl was soon to turn very violent when an indigene tried to rescue folarin from the grip of the police men, He was warned severally to stay away from the scene.
The indigene who goes by alias ‘Kaka’ refused to stay away but threatened hell on the policemen, other indigenes who seemed to have been interested in the incidence were also gathering at the scene gradually. In a bid to disperse the crowd and make a successful arrest of both folarin and Kaka, the police shot in the air and a stray bullet hit kaka in the leg,but this tragic mistake worked in reverse sparking anger in the indigenes that have already reached a large number at this time.
They immediately pounced on the policemen beating them blue-black wanting to lynch them to death, but the head of the vigilante group in the area who goes by the alias ‘fighter’ came to their rescue and prevented the crowd from further touching them. Another undisclosed source who is a student said that folarin is a friend of the indigenes because he buys them beer and gives them loyalty money to enable him easily carry out his agent job and this was the reason why the indigenes stood up for him. he also added that this is not the first time indigenes have gathered to lynch almost to death individuals at the university gate, he addedthe vigilante and the indigenes in this area are very violent, they almost lynched some students to death few months ago on false allegation of armed robbery but rather personal beef, but the police rescued them and arrested majority of the offenders, i amsure this is retaliation against the police for that incident, we students need more protection from these illeterates before they kill us all, if they dont want us in their village, they should write the federal government to relocate our school The incidence which happened around 3PM opposite zenith bank located at FUNAAB’s gate has since been settled, students who fled the area during the incidence are beginning to return to the area and all individuals involved have been arrested and are at the obantoko police station pending further investigation.
