Photos: Police rescue 13-year-old boy chained by his father over alleged N2000 theft in Ogun

Officers attached to Sgamu Police Division of the Ogun State Command has rescued a 13-year-old teenager, who was chained by his father for stealing his N2,000 at their residence in Shagamu.

Neighbours found the teenager naked on the bare floor with his hands and legs bound. There are reportedly blood stains on his body.

When asked why he was in the position, his father, Adeoye Oreyomi, 41, accused him of stealing his N2,000.

A resident, Modupe Okeshola, alleged that it was not the first time the boy was tortured by his father.

"This is how this boy has been dehumanised by his father. Even if he stole, is this the right way to discipline a child? He even padlocked the chains so that nobody can rescue him. We had to call in the Police because we were afraid that the boy might die."
The Divisional Police Officer, Shagamu Division, Aduroja Moses, reportedly led a team of policemen to the house, from where the teenager was rescued and taken to the hospital.

Spokesman for Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident said the father has been arrested and will be charged to court.
"The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. He warned that the Command will not tolerate any act of lawlessness from anybody no matter how highly placed the person

The child's mother walked in on her chanting incantations on the child and she raised alarm.
People gathered and helped her pin the woman down. The woman, who is in her early 30s, was beaten after which she allegedly confessed that a man sent her on the mission and she's usually paid N500,000 for each child she kidnaps.

Father sentenced to 1,503 years in prison for raping teenage daughter

A 41-year-old man in Fresno, Califonia was sentenced to 1,503 years in prison for raping his teenage daughter over a four-year period.

The man was sentenced Friday, October 21, to the longest-known prison sentence in Fresno Superior Court history. The Associated Press is not naming the man because it could identify his daughter. They also don't name victims of sexual abuse.

In announcing the punishment, Judge Edward Sarkisian Jr. told the man he is a "serious danger to society" and noted that he had never shown remorse and has blamed his daughter for his predicament.

The man's daughter was first sexually abused by a family friend but instead of protecting her, he turned her into "a piece of property," prosecutor Nicole Galstan said.

The victim was raped two to three times a week from May 2009 to May 2013, when the girl got the courage to leave him.

In September, a jury found him guilty of 186 felony counts of sexual assault, including dozens of rape of minor. The daughter, who is now 23 told the judge that her father has never shown remorse for her pain and suffering.
"When my father abused me, I was young. I had no power, no voice. I was defenseless,"
Before his preliminary hearing, he turned down two guilty pleas. If he had admitted  his guilt, prosecutors would have recommended 13 years in prison. But he rejected the offer, saying he should be released from jail for the time he already served.
"He ruined her teenage years and made her feel like it was her fault," Galstan said.

Jimoh Ibrahim Accuses Ondo REC Of Arranging A Meeting With Him In London Over Guber Poll

Jimoh Ibrahim, the controversial governorship candidate of the crisis-ridden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has accused the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Segun Agbaje, of conducting shady deals ahead of the November governorship poll.
Mr. Ibrahim alleged that Mr. Agbaje, who doubles as the head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State, arranged a meeting with him during a recent trip to London.
The gubernatorial candidate made the accusation in an interview he granted with Punch Newspaper published on Sunday.
Mr. Ibrahim claimed that Mr. Agbaje made a frantic effort to see him during the trip to London to discuss the November 26, 2016 governorship election in the State, but he turned it down
“This is somebody that wanted to see me in London at the graduation ceremony of his son to discuss the Ondo election. I told him [Segun Agbaje] I had no business with him. I am not out to rig the election in Ondo. I don’t want anybody to rig me in," Mr. Ibrahim stated.
“I am not saying that he is fraudulent but he [Segun Agbaje] arranged a London meeting and I said no. I have a call record of the conversations. How can I go and see the INEC REC in London because I want to be governor in Ondo State?" he queried.
The embattled governorship candidate said it was embarrassing when Mr. Agbaje denied knowing him as the governorship candidate of the PDP.
Mr. Ibrahim added that his identity was denied when he obtained the governorship nomination forms from the Ali Modu Sheriff camp of the PDP.
He said that the electoral body ought to be an unbiased umpire in the electoral process of the country but added that the corruption within the commission was alarming.
Mr. Ibrahim’s accusation came as anxiety mounted in the crisis-ridden PDP in Ondo State over INEC's October 27, 2016 deadline for accepting gubernatorial candidates.
In the interview, Mr. Ibrahim further claimed that it took him a long time to submit his credentials with the electoral body for documentation after a court judgment.
He added that the electoral body, however, rejected the documents on a pretense that there were errors in the court judgment.
The PDP candidate further alleged that an official at the legal unit of the INEC office was seeking a bribe before she could accept the court judgment documents.
“I was shocked. I went to the INEC office and asked why they rejected the document. I waited for four hours. After four hours, I asked again what the problem was.
“I then asked for the legal department, where I met a female official. I saw the boy who rejected my form with her. The woman told me they would not receive the form. She said there was an error in the court judgment.
“I asked her how she knew that there was an error in the judgment when she had not even checked what we brought. I was shocked when she demanded $1m from me before she could accept the document. I thought it was a joke. I told her I won’t give out any money," Mr. Ibrahim told Punch Newspaper.
The controversial businessman had insisted that he remained the authentic governorship candidate of the PDP for the November election, adding that he would not step down for Eyitayo Jegede, a preferred stooge of the embattled Governor Olusegun Mimiko, who is also jostling for the seat.

19 year old man rapes 10 year old girl in Ogun state

A 19-year-old man, Felix Gbadebo has been arrested by the Ogun state police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl little girl (whose name was not released due to her age). In a statement by State Police Command image-maker, Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta on Sunday, the suspect called the little girl into his room on the pretext that he wanted to send her on an errand then raped her as soon as she entered his room.

Oyeyemi said:
“The suspect, according to the complainant, who is the father of the victim, called the girl, pretending he wanted to send her on an errand, and lured her into his room, where he used a pillow to cover her mouth and sexually abused her.
“The girl reported the case to her father, who informed police.
The victim’s father reported the incident at Sango Divisional Police Station, which led to the arrest of Gbadebo.
Oyeyemi added:
“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department for further investigation.
“He appealed to parents to always be watchful of their children in order to prevent them from becoming victims in the hands of people with devilish intentions.”
